Pathfinder Chef Challenge Spotlight: Aliza Green
When we first featured chef Aliza Green as a Discoveries Chef Spotlight, it was because we were honored to have the author of "¡Ceviche!: Seafood, Salads, and Cocktails With a Latino Twist," as well as nine other cookbooks, as a contender to become our Firestone Pathfinder. Well, now it seems Aliza has upped her odds of dining in the shadows of Machu Picchu significantly by entering herself in the Chef Challenge. In addition to boasting an extensive knowledge of Peruvian cuisine (writing on our Facebook wall, she informed us that "Potatoes, chiles and ceviche originated in Peru, which has a complex cuisine perfect for wine pairing."), four of her ten books (by my count) are designated as "Field Guides." We can hardly imagine a better application of a chef's field knowledge than cooking up a series of delicious meals prepared with a small gas stove and plenty of fresh local ingredients as we hike the open trail to Machu Picchu.
Sound like a good time? Join us! Whether you're a chef or an intrepid adventurer, check out the Firestone Discoveries website for your chance to win.
